Benefit from our full-service implant center — the best modern dentistry has to offer to replace teeth!

Randolph Family Dental is your destination for advanced dentistry in Schertz, greater south-central Texas, and beyond. Our skilled dentist and implantologist, Dr. Fortuna Vardeman, has considerable training and state-of-the-art tools to preserve even the most badly damaged teeth. However, even with the most modern techniques and skilled practitioners, no single treatment or service is 100% successful. Dr. Vardeman recommends prompt tooth replacement when teeth cannot be preserved through other means, such as nonsurgical root canal therapy.

As a skilled and experienced provider of dental implants, Dr. Vardeman offers all steps within the implant process. Other dental offices in Cibolo, Selma, Universal City, Marion, Garden Ridge, and elsewhere may only be trained and equipped to restore the implant. They do not have the knowledge and training to place or position the implant in the jawbone. These dentists must refer their patients to specialists or providers like Dr. Vardeman. By partnering with us, there is no running around to other offices. Our in-house capabilities and gentle approach support the most comfortable, convenient, stress-free, and pleasant experience possible when rebuilding your smile.

Options for every smile

As a true, full-service dental implant center, we help many patients experience the life-transforming benefits of the implant process. These implant-focused capabilities include:

  • “Standard” endosteal implants – “Endosteal” simply refers to “within the bone or cartilage.” The implant itself is a structure made from a biocompatible (tissue-friendly) material. When positioned precisely within the bone by Dr. Vardeman, materials like titanium naturally fuse or join the surrounding hard tissue. The implant effectively becomes a part of the jaw. So, it can function like a tooth root. When topped with an abutment connected to the prosthetic tooth, the implant provides a strong foundation for the crown. More than one dental implant may also be placed to stabilize or “root” several replacement teeth in the jaws.
  • Full-mouth “All-on-4” tooth replacement – This approach allows Dr. Vardeman to replace a maximum number of teeth with minimal dental implants. Depending on your needs, we may use as few as four implants to support an entire upper or lower arch of teeth. The prosthetic then simply attach to the implants. This advanced technology helps to minimize treatment sites and trauma while also containing the time spent chairside and the total cost of treatment.
  • Immediate tooth replacement (“Teeth-in-a-Day”) – Individuals with extensive needs, such as many failing teeth, never have to experience the cosmetic or functional challenges associated with toothlessness or “edentulism.” Dr. Vardeman can place both implants and prosthetic teeth during the same appointment. Typically, it might take several months for the implant to heal or integrate into the surrounding bone in the jaw. The process can take even longer for individuals with extensive bone loss, as additional procedures are necessary to “ready” the mouth to receive the implant. This is a no-wait, no-grafting alternative that only takes a few hours and involves minimal, carefully-positioned implants.
  • Sinus lift and bone grafting – Dr. Vardeman has extensive and comprehensive surgical expertise. In addition to precise implant placement, she also offers bone grafting and sinus augmentation to patients who might otherwise not be good candidates for tooth replacement with implants.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are titanium roots, that are replaced with in the jawbone to resemble a tooth or group of teeth. A screw is inserted through the gums and into the jawbone. A porcelain crown is then attached to the screw to become the new tooth or teeth. They can be used to support dental prosthesis including crowns, dentures, and bridges. Today’s treatments are so natural looking, no one will know you had surgery. There’s approximately a 95% success rate for all implants. With modern advances in dentistry, some implants can be restored immediately with life like all-porcelain crowns. For more details ask your dentist.
